  • OVERVIEW
  • Sewol ferry sank off South Korea‘s inland sea in 2014. Out of 476 people, 304 died in this disaster, including 250 high school students. During the capsizing and the subsequent reporting, the South Korean government's announcements were inconsistent and inaccurate. Thus, the victims’ families were making a protest and fighting hard to find the truth.
  • CHALLENGE
  • The poster aims to encourage more people to know and remember this accident. The design should present the ferry disaster reveals a serious social problem that people need to be aware of.
  • SOLUTION
  • I used the dark tone and deep colors to reference it’s a serious disaster and give a sense of sadness. The sinking boat and the girl are cautioning audiences the truth is still concealed by the government.
